HVAC
|
A major issue with the existing structure has been the ongoing use of obsolete and ineffective heating, ventilation, air handling, and cooling systems (HVAC). Face it, the building was constructed prior to the advent of conventional HVAC systems! From the ancient boiler that was over 30 years past a normal life expectancy to a series of used air conditioning systems, visitors to the historic Civic Auditorium rarely found themselves warm enough in the winter or cool enough in the summer to ever count on being comfortable during their next visit. The addition is required to house and operate a single HVAC system that replaces the obsolete equipment from the Historic Auditorium and makes the facility comfortable and energy efficient.
