An Economically Vibrant Historic Downtown

Imagine downtown St. Croix Falls as a vibrant historic district with lively shops, restaurants, and pubs.
Imagine residents and visitors enjoying views of the beautiful St. Croix River as they walk this City of Trails and enjoy the experience of being close to nature and close to the cultural experiences that create happiness.
Imagine the economic synergy and positive interdependence that comes from a cultural arts center
that draws 35,000 ticket-buyers and conference attendees each year to downtown St. Croix Falls.

The Civic Auditorium, home to Festival Theatre since 1990, will become an even MORE dynamic force in the Falls region than we've seen over the last twenty years. This cultural and entertainment center, with a professional performing arts company in residence, plays an important role in the recruitment and retention of professionals affiliated with St. Croix Regional Medical Center, the St. Croix Falls School District, and other regional businesses.
Our work to Save the Civic Auditorium is a superb investment for the future of the Falls area and the entire region.

Doubling or Tripling the Impact

Audience attendance at the Civic Auditorium average less than 36% of available seating each year.  With an elevator to the third floor, reliable heating and cooling systems, and assisted listening technology, the attendance is projected to double or triple, thereby increasing local economic activity as well.

Welcome Back Motor Coach Tours

Tour bus operators have frequently said, "We love this charming little town and the wonderful performances by Festival Theatre!  Please let us know when you have an elevator and we'll be back!"  Three day packages can include performances and local tours.

A Wider Scope of Activities

Programming has been limited to 90 to 120 days per year with a focus on Festival Theatre produced plays and presented concerts.  Attendance will follow the increased days of use to at least 200 per year and broadened scope of activities to include, weddings, rentals, conferences and additional public events.

The Experience Economy Hub

A tourism plan will put St. Croix Falls at the hub of two and three day visits to the Falls area exciting choices of experiences from local history and geology to getting out on the rivers, lakes & trails and visiting museums, casinos, wineries & nature areas.
